Valued Client Since: 1995With an estimated population of 100,000 people, the City of South Gate is the sixteenth largest city in Los Angeles County. Incorporated on January 20, 1923, it encompasses 7.5 square miles.
South Gate is conveniently situated approximately 12 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, near the intersection of the I-710 and I-105 freeways.
In the years following its incorporation, South Gate underwent a transformation from an agricultural plain into a locale for residential and industrial development.
The city's placement within the Thirty-Mile Zone makes it a valuable backyard resource for filmmakers. Aided by a permit process streamlined by FilmL.A., filmmakers working on-location in the South Gate can take advantage of the city's neighborhood and industrial settings.
