What We Offer
FilmL.A.'s core service is to provide expert, centralized coordination of multi-jurisdictional on-location filming permits in the world's highest-volume film production region. Please see the links to the right for more about what we offer.On-Location Monitoring
FilmL.A. created the Monitor Program as a response to community concerns with film permit compliance, particularly in neighborhoods that have special filming conditions. FilmL.A. Monitors are our eyes and ears on the street and are assigned to sensitive filming locations to provide community stakeholders and production companies a continuous third-party presence throughout the filming day.
Monitors serve as ambassadors and a point of contact for residents and business owners who may have concerns or questions about the filming process. They are the first to arrive on set and the last to leave in order to encourage production company compliance with permit conditions and to remind companies of their professional obligations.
Monitors will also help production companies receive the necessary support to complete their filming activities by facilitating communication with the neighborhood and a FilmL.A. Production Coordinator to arrange for any changes or extensions to the permit.
During a typical day, monitors interact with the public and production companies to resolve issues such as parking of production vehicles, noise concerns about generators and production equipment blocking driveway access. They also make sure neighborhoods are left as clean as they were when crews arrived.
