Angeles National Forest Extends Review Period for Film Permits

Angeles National Forest

The United States Department of Agriculture, U.S. Forest Service and the Angeles National Forest have informed FilmLA that due to staffing constraints, the Forest Service will be unable to meet standard turn-around times for film permits.

Requests to film in the Angeles National Forest will be considered for approval on a case-by-case basis, until further notice. The minimum review period required for the approval of basic permit requests will extend to 10 business days. More complicated requests, including (but not limited to) requests for aerial activity or drone use will require a minimum of 20 business days to review.

FilmLA has pledged its assistance and Forest Service officials would like to reiterate their commitment to meeting the needs of the film industry. Forest Service officials offer their assurance that work is being done to reduce permit application review and approval times in the coming months.

FilmLA will continue to provide updates once they have been made available. If you have questions, please contact FilmLA’s Solution Services team at 213-977-8600 or by emailing [email protected].
