FilmLA has always had the mindset to solve a problem with a permit issue for all of my projects, even when not in the role of Location Manager.

Good luck trying to produce your locations in Los Angeles without FilmLA. From juggling multiple unassociated permitting authorities in hotspots like Malibu and Venice Beach, to security, fire and water safety, drone, and lane closure requirements pretty much everywhere—not to mention the occasional HOA and parking curve balls—FilmLA covers all the bases so you can focus on creative.

Nowhere else is there an organization like FILM LA to cut through the bureaucratic permitting craziness. The fact that we have FILM LA located here in the epicenter of the film universe, keeps the machinery humming smoothly. Filmmaking is hard enough, knowing that you have an advocate in FILM LA, for filmmakers and the public at large, removes one large hurdle off the list.

FilmLA is a great organization that works hard to make filming in Los Angeles a reality. They have a difficult job, and I personally have found their efforts to be instrumental to helping a production to achieve our goals. During the production of “Joker: Folie à Deux”, FilmLA worked hand-in-hand with me to problem solve in the neighborhoods we worked in and I can say that we would not have been as successful without their database of information, their attitude of helpfulness and willingness to hear out my requests and work to turn a “No” into a “Yes”.

LA is a wonderful, diverse and complex place. It has a vast wealth of resources to offer the filming community. It’s also a network of many different voices, rules and municipalities. FilmLA offers essential and vital services in navigating this environment. FilmLA is an indispensable resource to the filming community.
