Forest Service Unable to Process Permit Applications During System Maintenance, Closed on October 14th

FilmLAProduction Alerts

The United States Department of Agriculture, U.S. Forest Service and the Angeles National Forest have informed FilmLA that due to routine database maintenance, the Forest Service will be unable to process new requests for permitting as normal. Scheduled database maintenance will begin September 30th and last through October 8th, 2019.

Additionally, the U.S. Forest Service and the Angeles National Forest will be closed on Monday, October 14th in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Columbus Day).

Below are the revised application guidelines during the system maintenance period:

The ten-day review period will resume on October 9th for filming on October 23rd and so on.

Under normal circumstances, requests to film in the Angeles National Forest are considered for approval on a case-by-case basis. The minimum review period required for the approval of basic permit requests extends to 10 business days. More complicated requests, including (but not limited to) requests for aerial activity or drone use will require a minimum of 20 business days to review.

If you have any questions about deadlines and drone use when filming in the Angeles National Forest or for answers to general production related questions, please contact FilmLA’s Solution Services team at 213-977-8600 or by emailing info@filmla.com.
